COUPLED EFFECTIVE MULTIGROUP LIBRARY GENERATOR FOR TRANSPORT CODES

INTRODUCTION

COMFORT is an effective neutron-photon multi-group library generator system for transport calculations with high order of anisotropy in scattering (up to P9). The ultimate goal of developing this code is enhancing the accuracy of reactor criticality and shielding calculations by providing accurate problem-dependent multi-group database via the latest versions of ENDF/B format raw data. In view of programming, this code is based on Fortran-2003 standard with emphasis on modularity, maintainability, and flexibility based on OOP paradigm.

  • providing a wide variety of user-selectable edit cross-sections
  • outputting the transport table structure into many different transport formats (e.g., ANISN, DORT , TORT, in-house DORNA , …)  

The PyCom utility is developed to automate multi-group microscopic cross-section production in MATXS format from a nuclear data evaluation file in ENDF/B format. To use COMFORT1.0 we need the mentioned utility or MATXS microscopic file generated by the NJOY or FRENDY code.
